(AF) US hopes of striking a digital trade deal with Asia, covering artificial intelligence and other tech applications, are being slowed by disagreement between two powerful government departments, the Wall Street Journal reported.
National Security Council and State Department officials want to approach the pact differently to US Trade Representative Katherine Tai, according to the report. Such a deal, which would exclude China, is seen as a way for the US to exert tech leadership in the region and give better access for American firms, such as Amazon and Google, it added.
