Afghan tech company Netlinks has helped create an app that’s keeping Kabul residents informed of which parts of the city are safe to enter during the chaotic Taliban takeover, the Financial Times has reported.
Ehtesab, which means “accountability”, is fed news and information from a team of observers who post their reports to WhatsApp before being verified and placed on the app, the report states. Co-creator and founder Sara Wahedi, who runs the site from outside of Afghanistan, said she hopes to expand coverage to the entire country. Full report: Financial Times
