Former State Bank of India chairman Pratip Chaudhuri was on Tuesday granted bail in connection with charges relating to an illegal loan deal, India’s CNBC-TV18 reported.

Chaudhuri was arrested at his Delhi home on October 30 for his alleged role in the sale of a hotel project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

He was first charged in the case in 2015 for allegedly seizing the property in a loan settlement and fraudulently selling it below the market price. He became a director of the company that purchased the hotel.
