US Regulators Focus on Tesla’s Self-Driving Software – Fortune

Officials at the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration are expanding their probe into Tesla’s automated driving feature, Fortune reports

Officials at the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration are expanding their probe into Tesla’s automated driving feature “to explore the degree to which Autopilot and associated Tesla systems may exacerbate human factors or behavioral safety risks by undermining the effectiveness of the driver’s supervision”, according to a report by Fortune.

The move, came after the agency analysized accidents involving Tesla revealed patterns in the car’s performance and the  driver’s behaviour, could prompt a mandatory recall, the report said.
