The chairman of Chinese battery giant CATL revealed on Saturday that his company is working on power battery structures and chemical systems, including previously unheard-of condensed matter batteries, a report by Pandaily said.

The group’s latest CTP 3.0 Kirin battery, which will be mass produced and released next year, had “a volume utilisation rate of 72% and an energy density of 255Wh/kg, far exceeding Tesla’s 4680 battery,” and it could achieve a 1,000km battery life for vehicles, the report said.
