(ATF) – Work has resumed on more than half of China’s housing construction and municipal infrastructure projects.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Construction announced that as of March 8, work had resumed on 111,900 housing construction and municipal infrastructure projects out of a total of 192,500 projects. The ratio of start-ups and work resuming on projects had reached 58.15%, it said.
CITIC Construction Investment said that situation regarding the Covid-19 epidemic had greatly improved since March. The resumption of work and production was the main line of economic activity.
Although overseas market were now volatile, with workers continuing to return to work, countercyclical policies were strengthening, while monetary policy is loose and the macro policy environment was conducive to market recovery.
Citic Construction Investment pointed out that the increased resumption of work showed that China had entered the fourth phase of the epidemic.
Three-year action plan for SOEs
Meanwhile, a “Three-year Action Plan” for the reform of state-owned enterprises is expected to be released in the near future.
Experts believe that given the influence of the Covid-19 epidemic, in order to achieve business objectives and reform tasks set at the beginning of the year, the reform of state-owned enterprises will be accelerated in the second quarter, and mixed reform, listing, restructuring and integration will enter an accelerated period.
