Ash Barty Tennis Win Beats TV Ratings Records – The Age

The match was the most-watched women’s final since OzTam records began in 1999 and would have been one of the most-viewed events of 2021

Ash Barty’s drought-breaking Australian Open win smashed television ratings records, with a peak audience of 4.261 million and an average audience of 3.577 million, The Age reported.

According to Australian Open broadcaster Nine, the match was the most-watched women’s final since OzTam started keeping records in 1999. The figures would have made it one of the most-viewed events of 2021.
