China May Steal A March Over US in AI – Straits Times

Washington is ahead of Beijing in the race but can be expected to be overtaken, former Google boss Eric Schmidt said

China may steal a march over the US in the artificial intelligence arena if the latter doesn’t step up its game, The Straits Times reported, citing Google’s former top boss Eric Schmidt.

Washington is ahead of Beijing in the race but can be expected to be overtaken, Schmidt said, pointing to China’s policy to build domestic manufacturing and artificial intelligence technologies with the aim to surpass the US.
