Chipmakers are getting increasingly frustrated as US politicians argue over the allocation of funds in the Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors for America (CHIPS) Act, Nikkei Asia reported.

The Act aims to subsidize the production of semiconductors in the US but the legislation has been hanging as politicians debate why a well-funded sector needs government aid, the report added.
