Debt-Laden Sri Lanka Happy to Buy Cheap Russian Oil – FT

Sri Lanka sourced more than half its crude from Russia since May, buying oil from Moscow for the first time since 2013, the FT said.

Crisis-hit Sri Lanka has scaled-up imports of Russian oil as it takes advantage of cut prices caused by western sanctions on Moscow, The Financial Times reported.

Sri Lanka sourced more than half its crude from Russia since May, according to the report, which it was the first time the country had bought oil from Russia since 2013.
