Didi Global is shutting down its food business in Japan as the Chinese ride-hailing and delivery company prepares for a delisting in the US, Nikkei Asia reported.

The company launched services in April 2020 in Osaka and later expanded to nine prefectures, according to its website. “Unfortunately, due to local market conditions, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue DiDi Food in Japan,” it said.
