Hyundai Loses Ground to Rivals in China – Chosun Ilbo

The South Korean carmaker had soared to the No. 2 spot in 2009 in the world’s largest market but fell to 12th place last year

Hyundai and affiliate Kia’s combined market share in China fell to a dismal 2.7% in 2021 with only 530,000 cars sold in the world’s largest market, The Chosun Ilbo reported.

Hyundai had soared to the No. 2 spot in 2009 but had fallen to 12th place last year, while Japanese rival Toyota rose to third place after Volkswagen and GM.
