Indian Workers Rescued From Fake Thailand IT Jobs – AP

It’s claimed the firms operate through agents in Dubai, Bangkok and some Indian cities recruiting workers through social media ads


Unlicensed Chinese money brokers have been the focus of a number of investigations over the past year in Italy.

 

Indian authorities swooped to rescue 130 workers from Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia after they were lured there for fake IT jobs in Thailand, AP reported.

The Indian workers were held captive and forced to commit cyber fraud, Arindam Bagchi, an External Affairs Ministry spokesperson said in the report, for fraudulent IT companies involved in digital scamming and forged cryptocurrencies.
