India’s Electric Rickshaws an Example for Developing Nations – NYT

India’s three-wheeled electric vehicles (EVs) are available to buy for as little as $1,000, falling within the median income of $2,400, The New York Times said.

India’s electric mopeds and rickshaw taxis are showing an affordable electric vehicle industry is possible, paving the way for other developing nations, The New York Times reported.

India’s three-wheeled electric vehicles (EVs) are available to buy for as little as $1,000, falling within the median income of $2,400, the report said. India sold 430,000 EVs in the 12 months leading up to March, it said, three times the amount from a year earlier.
