Japanese Firms to Make Gender Pay Gap Reports Public – Nikkei

Japanese companies that employ more than 300 staff will soon have to report gender wage disparities as part of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida’s “new capitalism” action plan that is expected to be compiled in June, Nikkei Asia reported.

Japanese companies will have to publish female staff’s pay as a percentage of men’s on their websites and disclose legitimate reasons for disparities, the report said, adding that the rules will also affect more than 10,000 companies that are not publicly traded.
