Mitsubishi and Mitsui & Co plan to launch a project to store carbon dioxide in the seabed off Western Australia, The Japan News reported, The Japan News reported, citing its Japanese-language sister paper Yomiuri Shimbun.

This technology has attracted attention as a way to promote decarbonisation and the companies plan to begin by March procedures to obtain permission from the Australian government to conduct a detailed survey of the ocean floor.
