Pakistan’s Senate on Friday approved legislation to provide autonomy to the country’s central bank amid strong protest from the opposition benches, Dawn reported.

The State Bank of Pakistan Amendment Bill, 2021, passed by the upper house 43-42, places restrictions on the government’s borrowing.
