Some Russian oil tankers of state-run Sovcomflot have been sailing stealthily in international waters following the Ukraine invasion, circumventing western sanctions on Moscow’s energy exports, Nikkei Asia reported, citing public data from MarineTraffic.
Sovcomflot’s oil tankers lacking destination details numbered 24 out a total of 76 vessels, with some switching destinations to friendly ports of call such as India and China after loitering at sea for nearly a month, the report said.
