The bogging down of Russian armed forces in its war in Ukraine has spurred China to develop smarter, more powerful drones, the South China Morning Post reported, citing a new study by People’s Liberation Army researchers.

“This conflict will definitely set off a chain reaction in the military and technological sector,” the SCMP quoted Meng Fansong, of the National University of Defence Technology in Wuhan, as writing in a paper published in Command Control and Simulation.
