South Korea is planning to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), because it fears being left behind if key economies in the region join the trade pact, Nikkei says.
But opposition to the trade deal within the agricultural sector means that Seoul has a bumpy road ahead, it said.
