Vedanta Takes Over Sole Nickel Producer in India: BS

The acquisition comes as the nickel market is tightening with a surge in battery demand after an increase in global stainless steel production in recent years

Vedanta Ltd, led by Indian business tycoon Anil Agarwal, says it has acquired the Goa-based leading nickel and cobalt producer Nicomet, Business Standard reported.

The acquisition comes when the nickel market is tightening with a surge in battery demand and an increase in global stainless steel production in recent years, the report said, citing a press release.
