Volkswagen To Focus On EVs, Not Hybrids In India: BL

German automaker Volkswagen, which also owns Czech car maker Skoda Auto, will focus on production of electric vehicles rather than hybrids in the long-term, The Hindu Business Line reported.

Hybrid vehicles are not sustainable solutions, the report said, quoting Skoda Auto Volkswagen India managing director Gurpratap Boparai.

Boparai, who was speaking on the sidelines of the roll out of the Skoda Slavia in India, said the VW group has already sold out its all-electric Taycan a week after its launch.
