Xi Jinping Doubles Down on China’s Zero Covid Policy – NYT

Xi said his ruling party will continue to wage an “all out people’s war to stop the spread of the virus.”

Xi Jinping doubled down on China’s strict ‘zero Covid’ policy on Sunday, dashing hopes that the country’s costly lockdowns may end in the near future, the New York Times reported.

Speaking at China’s Communist Party twice-a-decade congress, Xi said his ruling party will continue to put human life above all else, said the report, waging an “all out people’s war to stop the spread of the virus.”
